gyming
went gyming again today. been gyming 3 times a week, for the LAST 3 WEEKS!! i know that i've been neglecting my health & fitness for the last few years...alright, my whole life, but never had the time to do anything about it. [actually, as i recall, there was a time i was good at sport. it was in the first few yrs of primary school, back in china...even got selected with a few other girls from my class to try out basketball and tennis.....i don't recall going back there after the first time. then somehow i couldn't run fast or jump far anymore...]anyway, ya gyming...it's making me feel more tired than before. not feeling more energetic or happier as they say exercise should. More importantly, i still feel terrible when i run for the train or the green light. like today, it was only a 5 sec "sprint" up one of the ramps in Strathfield, but i felt like i was goin to get chest pain at any moment and it took me more than 5 minutes to stop puffing after i sat down.
ok the following's gonna be boring for most of you. so you should stop reading here. i'll just keep typing away, cos i like "completion".
started doing an exercise program and they told me to do 2min walk:2 min run intervals on the treadmill instead of my usual 10min walk:10min run:10walk. tis supposed to be better but i don't know why? They didn't teach us much about exercises in med, except that it's good for you of course. only had 2 lectures on exercises in the entire course. the only thing i learnt and still remember is that buying a gym membership is an incentive to going back after start going. and so that's wat i did.
geez, i do do a bit of verbal diarrhoea. still haven't got to wat i came here to say!!! better not do this too often, cos blogging will start wasting a lot of mine time...
ok, wat i came to here to write is that, part of my exercise program involves doing some weights for the upper limbs. I was advised to use 2 particular ones. One of them works the trapezius, rhomboids, triceps, teres major, and a bit of biceps and brachialis. it's ok. cos i am only doing 2 kg! But i am having problems with the the one where u start with your arms abducted and flexed at the elbow and then you bring them forward to a forward flexed position. I feel that instead of working my muscles, my ligaments are being stretch and that it's tearing the anterior part of my rotator cuff. so am not sure if i'm doing it right...guess just have to wait and see how much pain i wake up with tmrw morning.
ok, i'm tired. can't recall wat else i was gonna say now...
