graduation & carolling
Graduation went smoothly. the walking-up-to- shake-hand part didn't take as long as i'd imaged it would. and i didn't trip or fall when it was my turn! it was prob cause of my good flat shoes. think i did the shake-take-and-doff routine ok too. the reading of declaration was interesting. "I will extend care, empathy and respect without prejudice to all patients, and honour their trust in me...i will not compromise thsee ideals under duress or for personal gain." Wonder if other courses have these sort of declarations too.after the actual ceremony it was a rather crazy rush of getting the plaque, getting the professional photos taken, taking to friends + taking more photos. all in only 2 hours time, so that i wouldn't get fined for returning the gown late.
THANKS SO MUCH TO THOSE OF YOU THAT CAME TO MY GRADUATION!!
Carolling outside Sim&Es's apartment complex went well. Thank God the weather held up and we didn't scare away the neighbours with our singing. ppl with all sort of ages came and most stayed to chat. had a few conversation with the people that came. (Thank God also that one thing i learnt from med was talking to old people. funny how i have plenty of patience & greatly enjoy chatting to them if i don't need medical info from them). hopefully they will come to the Christmas service!!! reckon our church should do outreaches like this more often!!
my "solo" was an interesting experience. i started off too fast, then i realised it & tried to slow down but the music was too fast cos they'd been trying to catch up with me! when the others joined in the song, we just couldn't slow down. and everyone was out of breath at the end of the song! Sorry to the guitarists and my fellow singers. imaging "Silent Night" as the fastest song in a carols night.....
need to spend more time with family after Xmas. been out too much lately...
also need to do more reading and reflection...
