no longer proud
well, finally in Shanghai.spent one more day in KL than planned to. cos i didn't have a visa to enter into China. only realised it when i got to Check-in before midnight. so mum flew ahead while i spent the night on the airport lounge (trying to get some sleep while not having my luggage stolen). made my way back to KL city the next day, found the Chinese Embassy, bought my visa, tried to kill time, back to KL airport to kill more time.
Embassy staff: "um, you have no address here in KL on your visa application form."
Me: "ya no, i have no where to go. so i really need this visa to fly out tonight."
Lesson here:
i'm not as organised as i prided myself to be. spent too much time working out how to spend my time in KL (producing a 4 page summary including an emergency helpline number to Australian embassy ~ not that they were any help at the end!!!)
God's always in control. i was surprised how calm i was about it all. i knew that God was disciplining me about depending on Him and no longer only on myself. Thankfully, He helped me to have researched KL's transportation system well enough before hand to know how to get to places, also gave me to clear head to get things done the next day without having had much sleep overnight. (I also knew, so long i had $, the C embassy wouldn't reject my emergency visa application.)
So i ended up spending a total of 16 hours at KL airport. know it much better than Sydney airport. Those 16 hours were long and miserable. nothing goes in when i try to read. no (reasonably priced) internet access. i realised for the first time, how lonely i could get without human interaction for that long. Also, had to spend 7hours waiting for the visa to be approved. that was miserable too. i even tried to spend a few hours at Kinokuniya. um what (unwrapped) book could i read and finish in 2 hours. when i finally picked one, i couldn't concentrate.
anyway, have only 2 weeks in Shanghai. hope to make the best of it.
PS. can't get into my blog page. don't understand why the C govt banded access to http://...blogspot.com but not the blog editing page.
