a good weekend

just had one of the best weekends ever!

Saturday:
went to get my hair done at Para for the graduation ball!!! (the last time i went to the hairdresser was probably 6 years ago and i'd never had anything more than just a cut). Fortunately, the dress+hair worked, considering that i planned for everything about 8 months ago.

Then went to Rhodoes to bargain for a TV package. Got the price i wanted, so was quite pleased and glad that i didn't settle with another store 2 weeks ago at a price at least $200 higher.

The actual ball was a tiny bit of an anti-claimax. don't know why. perhaps cos there was too many people and didn't have enough time to chat to everyone and check out everyone's dress. And the food was only so so. But it was good to see (almost everyone) together for one last time. Must say i don't like to dance, not what people do these days. Call me old-fashioned, or simply old, but why call it a "ball" when there's no waltzes or tangos?!? it's a pity people don't do it any more.

It was very nice of Wendy's fiance to drive us home (at 1:30am), considering he then had to drive home (which's 40min away) AND he had to be at work 8:30am.

Sunday:
church service as usual. The sermon was interesting and had a very practical message. The girls at EYF gave me a dancing horse that sings "doo deelee dooo" quite contagiously. Thanks girls! Had a quick lunch with vicky before the Baptismal service. It was real good to see people from our church getting baptised. The testimonies were full of humility, repentance and thankgiving to the Lord.

after that went to Victor&Junie's place. had an awesome time. it's wonderful to see that the 25+ age group at our church has gown over this year and the people bonded very quickly! Praise to the Lord!! played Taboo (vicki's a gun at it; and learnt a trick from Victor who's never played Taboo before), a bit of majang (mando), watched a never-ending game of Chinese chess, while listening to Anthony Warlow. what more can i ask for?!?

the thought that i should go home and study didn't cross my mind even once! *oh wat a feelin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* (um...actually been thinking of getting a toyota)
