China's good for:

other than food and clothing,

old movies (DVD)

got a few more golden oldies this time:
- High Noon (Gary Cooper & Grace Kelly) ~ because of Cooper
- Citizen Kane (Orson Welles) ~ wanted to understand why it's regarded the No1 movie ever made
- For Whom the Bell Tolls (Gary Cooper & Ingrid Bergman) ~ again cos of Cooper (from memory that movie itself was kinda boring)
- Casablanca (everyone should know this) ~ want it on DVD as my VHS copy won't last as long

Relatively newer ones:
- Pride & Prejudice (the lastest version) ~ cos i wanted to jump up&down criticising every scene, piece of costume, look.
- Tess of D'urberville ~ cos i like a good cry; a surprise find.

i'd already seen 5/6 before buying them. can't find most of the old ones in Australia. can't even catch them on TV anymore these days.

the most expensive one was less than $4AUD. mind you, i found them in very reputable department stores, all in proper cases, with laser stickers & proper English on the back, receipts and flew them across the Pacific Ocean in their original boxes (not paper wrappings). u can't find more genuine DVDs in China.
