sick =(
but tis no big deal. not having fallen sick for 1.5yrs(!!!!!!!) i have absolutely no complaints. [6 colds in 2004, and none in 2005 ~ that's statistically significant!] esp since i have people coughing and sneezing on me almost everyday, was actually getting a bit surprised that i wasn't getting sick. Another positive thing is that i could sit comfortably at 1 meter distance from a patient with runny nose+cough+sore throat last night, without wishing i had a mask on. (you can't get double viral URTI... can you??) But no gastro please, no gastro. The gastro bug's certainly going around. see it everytime i work these last few weeks.on my sickest day at ED so far, i managed to see the most number of patients last night: 10 (amongst all my nose-blowing)
it was helped by the fact that 2 of my patients refused to wait for the results of their investigations and further assessment and just left; plus, heaps of minor fractures that walked off football fields on a relatively warm weekend.
feel bad about taking a sick leave. don't like making ppl find replacements when i haven't given them enough notice, but then, whoever gives notice that they're gonna be sick?? but still...um, i'll still go in tonight.
