back where i belong

first day back at work, back at the big hospital where i did my first term, and next door to my old ward ~ I was excited! i know just exactly where to place the radiology forms, who the nice people are (ie no stress when calling), where the shutes are and little things like that! just loved it! It's great to be back!!

the downside:
walking thru my old ward, only a few familiar faces, most of the registras have changed, few nurses. even the old faces didn't seem to recognise me. we did work together for 10 weeks, you teased me and i teased you back, and i was sad to leave you 2 terms ago. ok, i'm a fast walker and you didn't really glance my way.

and then there was Mr G who, 3 months ago, was under our team for almost the entire duration of my 10wk term and who said a lot of nice words when realising that i was moving onto a new rotation. when i saw you today, sitting among the audience in what looked like a musical on the back of the rehab ward, and smiled and knodded, you politely knodded back but with no sign of recognition in your eyes. I tried to chase you down later on to find out why you were still in hospital! but realised that your name wasn't on the board. perhaps you were visiting a friend. well then, i'm happy for you. but hope you were able to recall who i was after i smiled and left.

~ i'm blaming all this on my ordinary asian face. just another asian girl in the hospital.

[Addit ~ 29 August:
Yeah! 5 of you smile and seemed happy to see me again today when i walked pass the bone ward. i'm not so immemorable afterall!!]
