there's no place like home
in the past few wks i've had the opportunity to work at a few hospitals outside my own hospital's area health service. I find working in new environments exhilarating. I enjoy the satisfaction of still getting things done when i have to ask and search for almost everything i need.i wasn't surprised to find that these hospitals all had much more junior- medical-office- friendly computer/radiology/pathology systems. And for JMOs, it really makes a lot of difference to our workload, cos the majority of our work relies on these things. In my hospital, everyday, we waste hours trying to get our computers to work or walk hundreds of meters to deliver or retrieve things we need.
However, coming back to work at my own hospital these last couple of days, seeing familiar faces (colleges and even nurses) that recognise me, has made me realise that i still love this hospital best.
