Ankylostoma
non medicos, pls ignore. you'd be bored.silly me! of course ankylostoma means lock jaw, aka trismus.
came across it in Balderdash, and thought it meant "a hole made in the spine"
cos i didn't think and thought "ankylo-" meant spine, since it's in "ankylospondylitis". durrh! spine is "spondy-". "ankylo-" means stiff "joint".
"-stoma" is a hole of, course.
so "a hole (as a result of) a stiff joint" should mean lock jaw.
silly silly silly me
just thought you should know this. quite likely to pop up at work, you know! or when you play Balderdash.
