so mum's away for 2 weeks and there're 8 label boxes of food in the freezer (with a menu on the door) + a few dishes and washed vegies in the fridge*. think i will be alright. the time will pass very quickly. with my current work 12hr, sleep 8 (i need it), eat 1 and road 1. i have 2 hours each day to spend with myself to wind down - too short a time to start feeling any loneliness. (today's precious 2 hours involved reviewing and signing the letters i dictated in clinic. The typists, by editing my letters, add so much professional favour to my letters that i actually sound like a doctor!!!)
not happy (but not surprised) about today's mid-term assessment. got average for all the assessible categories. i hardly see him and he's not the type that will ask the reg for an opinion, so what would he know about how i'm doing?
in other news: looks like i'll have to take a trip to Melbourn late this yr to see Phantom
* this reminds me of a Chinese parable: mother had to go on a trip leaving lazy son at home. she prepared a piece of large donut shaped bread which sat around his neck otherwise he'd be to lazy to get himself food. mother came back a few days later to find her son dead and the bread half-eaten (the half in front of his mouth).
