HDU nights
so this begins 7 days of night shift. 12hrs each. total of 84 hours a week. followed by a week off!and it's been not to bad actually. spent a lot of time getting to know each patient and hopefully will need to spend less time in the next few days with the old ones.
becoming increasingly aware of the shocking deterioration in my knowledge in some areas and the lack of in others. scary to think that i'm a little apprehensive doing after hours shifts but feels generally at ease because there's always the med reg there to ask for help and pass on the responsibility.
but come next year, when i'm a med reg my self, if i stick to my current plan AND get the job, i'd be the one the JMOs depend on. the thought makes me shudder...
